Inspired by Nature Camp was filled with activities that involved dirt, animals, leaves, sunlight, microbes, and lots of other fun stuff! We took advantage of the fact that our facility is located in a beautiful park, and let Mother Nature be our muse.

After we made our own personalized nature journals, we went outside to gather some natural materials for our art projects. Campers found acorns, stones, leaves, and all kinds of interesting things in the park to sketch and utilize. We learned about the many kinds of animal textures, from wool to turtle shells, and each camper made their own 3 dimensional collage of what those textures would feel like using beads, felt, feathers, tape, and more.

A tour to the Conservatory gave campers ideas for their Mini Park Terrariums, which all turned out to be very unique. We also created animal masks, gigantic flowers, cyanotypes, and over-sized microbes! We wrapped up the week with Plein-Aire Painting, taking campers out into the park to paint with watercolors. Below are some of our favorite moments from camp!
