Bike-In Movie Nights 2013   6 comments

In coordination with Indianapolis’s First Friday events,

the Arts Center at Garfield Park is proud to present our favorite movies


Between May and September there will be five events featuring film favorites from the 80s.  Food trucks will be on site and the movies will begin shortly after dusk.  Bring your bikes, blankets, family and friends to this new Indy Parks event.

The schedule of free films is:

May 3 // The Princess Bride

June 7 // The Goonies

July 5 // A Christmas Story

August 2 // Spaceballs

September 6 // Ghostbusters

Vintage Movie Night: Bowery at Midnight (1942)   Leave a comment

Join us for murder and mystery! Film collector, historian, and preservationalist Eric Grayson will be sharing some of his favorite vintage films one night each month. Each film is preceded by a vintage cinematic ‘short.’

Starring Bela Lugosi. A psychology professor by day, Karl Wagner (Lugosi) runs a Bowery soup kitchen at night where the down and out tend to disappear, but reappear as zombies. (Runtime 61 min.)

Saturday, April 20

8:00 pm

Tickets are available at the door on the night of the film for $4 each. Popcorn, candy and drinks are available for $1 apiece.

We’ll show you how to make a drawing look like it’s coming off the page and make creatures with mouths that open and close. All materials provided, just bring your imagination!

A Night of English Country Dancing – April 11   Leave a comment

Dancing at the GPAC

Join host Barry Levitt and dance caller Alice Smith-Goeke for a lively evening of dancing for all skill levels. English Country Dance is a form of social folk dance which originated in Renaissance England, and was popular until the early 19th century in parts of Europe, the American colonies and the United States. Ages 14 and up. Free!
