National Arts Program 2013   Leave a comment

by Steve Snodgrass on flickr

If you work for the City of Indianapolis, you should read this.

Do you have a flair for photography? Do you like to work with clay? Is there someone in your family you consider artistically talented?

On behalf of the Garfield Park Arts Center and Indy Parks and Recreation, I would like to invite you to exhibit in The National Arts Program®. This show features artworks created by City of Indianapolis employees, retirees and their families as they compete for CASH prizes. Participation is completely free!

You can enter in any type of artwork, including painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, or mixed media, you don’t have to pay anything, a nice reception will be held where people can admire your work, and you could win money!

Don’t have any artwork to display? No problem! Because you work for the City of Indianapolis, you get a 10% discount on many of the Garfield Park Art Center’s classes! You could register for a painting class this Summer, then enter a painting you did in class for the NAP exhibit. Not only are you learning a fun new skill, you also get to show it off and possibly win a prize!

Register for classes online today by visiting Play Indy and looking up the Course #, or call (317) 327-7135.

Want to learn more about photography? The Indiana Photographic Society meets at the GPAC every Wednesday at 7:00pm, and it’s free to attend!

So what are you waiting for? Show Indianapolis the artist in you! Register for NAP now!
