This winter and spring, join film historian Eric Grayson as he presents “Fallen Stars,” a film series featuring actors who were ostracized from Hollywood.
Coney Island (1917) and Fatty and Mabel Adrift (1916) Featuring Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle
In Coney Island, Fatty Arbuckle travels to an amusement park where he competes with Buster Keaton for the heart of a girl, which leads to havoc.
In Fatty and Mabel Adrift, the beach front house where Fatty and Mabel live has been “launched” out to sea by villains. When Fatty and Mabel arise, they find their beds floating in a sea of water.
Arbuckle was accused (and eventually exonerated) of causing the death of Virginia Rappe in 1921. He was able to obtain work only as a director afterward and died on the day he signed a contract for his big comeback in 1933.

In an unusual bout of warm, sunny weather last weekend, we made clay snowmen with some kids in Arts for All. After finishing their commemorative 100 Years Clay Tiles, a group of creative kids thought it would be nice to build “claymen”. Check out their creations!

Explore the works of Marc Chagall, known for his dream-like paintings and stained glass installations. Create original stained “glass” windows using tissue paper and your imagination!
Following a discussion on Marc Chagall and the significance of symbols in artwork, participants will create symbols important to them on colored tissue paper. Once these symbols are adhered to a laminating pouch, we will scrunch blue tissue paper around them to create a stained glass effect. After sealing the pouch, participants will use a black marker and draw lines to section off different parts of the “stained glass window”. Then the artwork is ready to display!
All Ages / Free Saturdays Noon – 4pm, Sundays 1-5pm
